America's Supply Chain

When it comes to America's supply chain, not everyone matters. Profit seems to be the driving force behind our corporate America. Some companies will say their mission statements have something to do with giving back to the community or provide their employees with great opportunities. If that is so, then why are some companies such as American Airlines laying off so many of their employees to gain a profit when times get rough?

Companies like American Airlines will cut the jobs of its employees before the thought ever crosses their minds to cut the big wigs with the high salaries. For example, after Septembet 11, 2001, thousands of employees lost their jobs in order for American Airlines to stay in business. This is a decision that made headlines all over the world, but did we ever hear about the high paid CEO's "getting the boot"? The answer is no!

This is just one example of how not everyone up the corporate ladder matters equally. No matter what the costs is, America's supply chain has one main focus, and that is profit.
